Fabian Edelstam is based in Paris since 1990 after graduating from Beckmans School of Design and Fashion in Stockholm. Later on he continued his studies in France at the art school Acadèmie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. Edelstam has since 1997, completed a large number of commissioned portraits. Among these you find the portraits of Giorgio Armani in 2004, Ralph Lauren 2009 & the former President of the Swiss Confederation, Adolf Oggi in 2011, Queen Silvia of Sweden 2013. In 2006 his triptych of de Gaulle was purchased by kind courtesy of Champagne Taittinger for Mémorial Charles de Gaulle, near the Generals residence in Colombey-Les-Deux-Eglises, France. The legendary beauty “Grace Kelly” on canvas

Edelstam’s work is found in private collections all over the world & represented on several international locations. He is represented in both the royal collections of Sweden & the collections of Prince Albert II of Monaco.  Travels, reading, history, music & a great passion for photography are some of the ingredients behind Edelstams unique art work, where inspiration is found. A harmonic balance between the past & present united. Edelstam shares a few thoughts  about his art & describes his work as by the following-   “In my portraits I try to recreate a bridge between past and present cultures, set in modern framework according to the principles of ancient mosaics (…) Some pieces are missing, others are in disorder, just like the fragments of a childhood memory that is being reconstructed, or should I say, exorcised?”.

I think from the words of the artist himself, we can find the connection to his art. Here are some pictures of Fabian Edelstam’s wonderful portraits represented
